MY JOURNEY

I grew up in a mixed family where the whole world was under our roof. Our home overflowed with cultures, colors, and endless possibilities, and our table brimmed with little bites from different countries. I’ve always felt both at home everywhere and yet nowhere all at once. My love for ingredients and my culinary journey began early, but I chose to pursue law, driven by a passion for reading, writing, and helping others.

While studying law, I took on a role as a food critic, receiving invitations to review restaurants and hotels. My deep connection to food remained unwavering, and even after becoming a licensed lawyer, the kitchen called to me as a place of refuge, peace, and serenity. It always beckoned me back.

After moving to Montréal, Canada, my passion for cooking grew even stronger.

What better place to immerse myself than this hub of gastronomy?

So, I followed my calling to culinary school and climbed the ranks until I earned the title of chef!

As a culinary writer and chef, I’m committed to showcasing the vibrant layers of cultures through storytelling. I blend thorough research with engaging narratives, using my diverse experiences in both law and the culinary arts to illuminate the richness of flavors and traditions around the world. I aim to foster a deeper appreciation of food's universal language and leave a lasting impact by changing how people think about and engage with food, culture, and flavor.

Seeing the world
changed my lens.

Traveling with my camera, experiencing new cuisines, cultures, and traditions has opened my eyes to diverse flavors and perspectives. I see the world through the lens of a storyteller, adventurer, and dreamer, embracing each challenge with a problem solver's mindset. It has taught me humility, to respect others for who they are, and patience for both what’s to come and what might not.

My journey has been paved with challenges and valuable lessons. People are wonderfully complex, each shaped by their backgrounds, ages, and experiences. We never stop learning and evolving, no matter how much we grow. There's always something new to discover. Venturing into the unknown takes courage, but consistency requires even greater bravery. Eagerness comes easily, but endurance is hard-won and rare.

Finding magic requires taking a leap of faith. Jump—don't let fear paralyze or doubts overwhelm you. Growth demands experimentation, and failure is a stepping stone on the path of life. As long as your heart is true and your purpose clear, your feet will find a safe landing.
